Job Description:
The global commercial vehicle research program of the Automotive & Transportation practice of Frost & Sullivan is seeking a Research Analyst who will play a key role in researching, analyzing ad forecasting commercial vehicle markets and technologies. This position, based in China, Shanghai will offer exciting opportunities to interested individuals to apply their analytical and presentation skills. The research analyst position will entail working in close proximity with commercial vehicle manufacturers, system suppliers, fleet managers, financial institutions, and industry leaders across all segments of the North American and global commercial vehicle markets. The position offers a unique blend of research, consulting, and business development opportunities. As a key member of the commercial vehicle program, the research analyst will work towards developing strategic research deliverables that offer actionable information and enable growth strategy formulation and calibration support to client partners. Frost & Sullivan's commercial vehicle research program is global and the research analyst is expected to work synergistically with analysts and industry participants around the world to deliver research deliverables of the highest value to our clients. Excellent research, communication, and presentation skills are key requisite attributes for this position.
Responsibilities:
Develop relationships and conduct interviews with industry experts such as major truck manufacturers, powertrain, chassis, safety and telematics suppliers, and end-users for the purpose of gathering primary data and producing a written market research report.
Conduct in-depth market analysis, and develop market forecasts for syndicated research studies and/or consulting projects
Write insightful articles on the industry for Frost & Sullivan online, Web newsletters, magazines, newspapers, and other industry media; contribute in content to reporters for major business publications
Establish a presence as an influential and knowledgeable expert in the commercial vehicle/trucking industry.
Requirements:
Undergrad/Master's degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Electrical/Electronics engineering or Undergrad in Journalism/Business Administration
At least 2 years experience in market research, product management, consulting, marketing or business analysis with a emphasis on the commercial vehicle or automotive technologies industries is preferred
Solid understanding of the commercial vehicle/passenger vehicle markets, supply chains, industry structure, associated technologies, etc.
Particular interest in heavy-truck technologies and markets
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a global team environment
Excellent report writing, excel and power point skills
Focus on delivering clients the highest degree of value
Availability to conduct on-site presentations and strategic workshops
Strong data and trend analysis capabilities
Extremely insightful, quick learner.
Ability to easily grasp understanding of new truck technologies and markets with a keen awareness of perspectives of all stakeholders
Strong quantitative skills to facilitate creative and accurate forecast modeling
