NEC aims to nurture entrepreneurial learning and venture creation among the NUS community, and to advance knowledge in the policy and practice of technology venturing in Singapore and beyond.  The centre was originally established in 1988 as a university-level centre called the Centre for Management of Innovation and Technopreneurship (CMIT).  In 2001, it became a division of NUS Enterprise, and was renamed as the NUS Entrepreneurship Centre (NEC).

Strategically sited in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Dialogue in the Dark Singapore is a teaching and learning facility for Ngee Ann students. Young people studying relevant diplomas also help in the running of Dialogue in the Dark Singapore, giving them valuable experience in running a real social enterprise. Research into issues facing the disabled in Singapore is also conducted.

Our Social Vision

We wish to spread Benny's story of experience, strength and hope to inspire troubled youths and people with conviction backgrounds to find alternative positive ways to reintegrate back into society.

We have worked with other social agencies both locally and regionally to help create this awareness and to provide a platform for these group of people to realize their talents in the Food & Beverage industry. We hope to expand out of Singapore and make Eighteen Chefs as part of the lifestyle to the youths globally

By providing them with a safe and non-judgmental working environment, we believe that we are giving them a chance to also work on their recovery through this unity of bond, which will eventually allow them to find a better and happier path in life.

Social Innovation Park ltd is founded by the youngest elected female parliarment member,founding member of NEW Asia Leaders in World Economic Forum, Ms Penny Low along with other pioneers in Singapore society. SIP is the leading organization to drive social innovation in Singapore, aiming to develop social entrepreneurship and thought leadership. Each Year, SIP holds Global Social Innovators Forum, invited spakers include Jet Li from One Foundation, Robson Walton from Walmart , Toffler, famous futurist etc.

In 1969, an American named Horatio Sye Slocumm was sent by International Executive Service Corporation (IESC) to East Malaysia to start a bakery. Mr. Slocumm brought with him 35 years of baking experience with one of America's leading chain of bakeries. Gardenia was born.

Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd rolled the first loaf of bread off its line in 1986. Within four short years, it became the bread market leader with an astounding 99 percent brand recall rate and 80 percent top-of-mind recall.

Gardenia's range of products grew and evolved through the years, becoming better and better with each step. Leveraging on its brand strength, Gardenia now produces a variety of baked products to satisfy consumers' demands.
